The new Suzuki Vitara is a compact SUV that is so open and airy that it feels so much like a normal-sized SUV. Suzuki once again came through and impressed us with their range of colors with an SUV that allows you to express your playful and colorful side. You have the option of choosing monotone colors or two-tone that all compliment the smaller yet solid SUV.
The interior is luxurious with suede finishes on the door panels that complement the leather and suede finishes on the seats. a panoramic sunroof that allows passengers to enjoy the fresh air and sunlight.
The infotainment comes with a 7” touchscreen that gives you the option of audio, hands-free phone, navigation system and smartphone connectivity which all fall under the home screen four operating modes namely “Listen, Call, Drive and Connect”. All four features allow you to enjoy Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and Mirrorlink where you’re able to access music, send and receive messages, get directions and mirror certain applications from your smartphone to the touchscreen display.
With safety being at the core of all Suzuki vehicles, the Vitara comes with 7 airbags one of which is knee airbag for the driver, stiffer and responsive brake paddle and electronic stability program (ESP) which gives you confidence when cornering. The Suzuki Vitara is powered by the same 1.4T engine as the Suzuki Swift Sport with outputs of 103kW and the only difference being that the former delivers 220 Nm of torque. It feels quick off the line, both the engine and transmission are responsive.
Suzuki claims fuel consumption of 5.8L/100km on the manual and 5.9L/100km on the automatic. Our test car had the six-speed automatic transmission and we averaged numbers just above 7,0litre/100km over multiple test runs.
Cruising refinement is one of the Vitara strong points, It does a good job at absorbing some of the bumps and roads imperfections. this is due lightweight and direct steering which makes it easy to maneuver and makes it feel like you’re driving a much smaller vehicle.
