Lexus has finally pulled the silk-off it’s 4th generation Lexus IS and is aimed at bringing back the thrill of driving to the compact luxury sports car segments.

In front, the Lexus IS features redesigned bumper with larger air vents, a three dimensional spindle grille, new slimmer zig-zag headlights which now feature Integrated LED daytime running lights giving the IS a modern sportier look.

The sportiness doesn’t stop there, alongside we find completely redesigned side skirts, redesigned doors with lower character lines which flow into the sleeker rear fenders and lowered rear deck to create a low stance that enhances the wider hips. The center of attention in the rear is the L-shaped blade-style lightbar that spans across the rear of the vehicle, This together with the redisigned bumper with a rear difusser gives the rear a dramatic effect and enhances its sporty appearance.

The interior features standard NuLuxe®-trimmed seating, with 10-way power driver and 8-way power adjustable front passenger seats, a dual-zone automatic climate control system with touch-sensitive controls, and a power moonroof, and SmartAccess with push button start, New trims adorns each door in F SPORT models with a graphic pattern of embossed intersecting lines, representing a new form of Lexus decorative expression and Takumi craftsmanship.

The infotainment system now makes use of a 10 inch infotainment screen which houses features such as Apple Carplay, Android Auto and Alexa.

The Lexus IS features a host of new safety technologies, including added functions such as Emergency Steering Assist which improves the system’s lane recognition performance. These advances are part of Lexus’ continuing efforts to prevent traffic accidents and fatalities, reduce driver burden, and develop driver-assist systems that provide a more natural and safer driving experience. The Pre-Collision System has been improved to detect daytime cyclists as well as pedestrians in low-light conditions and oncoming vehicles and pedestrians crossing the street.
