In the market for a new car? How about a Mazda 2? The Mazda2 shatters the preconception that a car’s value is proportionate to its size. With the latest high-level safety features, the Mazda 2 shatters every preconception you hold, break out into freedom and experience effortless joyful driving.

the new Mazda 2, features a revised grille, LED headlamps, taillights and the 16-inch alloy wheels which look stunning. On test we had the Hazumi model however the grades are as follows, Active, Dynamic, Individual & the Hazumi. They all have the same engine variant being a 1.5lt engine.

I purely enjoyed the Mazda 2 when cruising at about 80km/h to a 100km/h, as it purrs with confidence. Also, the ride quality is rather lovely. Don’t expect comfort when hitting bumps and poor road surfaces. On the highway, wind noise creeps into the cabin, but this is the case with most cars in the segment.

The 1,5-litre, four-cylinder engine produces 85 kW and 148 Nm. of torque. Paired with a six-speed automatic gearbox, zero to a 100 km/h takes 10,40 seconds (claimed). The Mazda 2 has a naturally aspirated unit and you probably asking yourself where’s the turbo? Well, Mazda has its skyactiv technology in its place to unlock quick-witted agility and outstanding fuel consumption. We averaged around 5,7 L/100 km.

The Mazda 2 interior is a quite impressive although not spacious, it offers an acceptable amount of room for passengers. The boot is decently sized. From behind the wheel, I don’t have much to say but that I would have loved a manual transmission.

The head-up display is a brilliant touch however because of my height I couldn’t fully enjoy the experience. From my view, I could only see bits and pieces of what appeared on it. This is my tailored experience, for an average height human being the experience should be rather different.

I enjoyed the MZD Connect infotainment system. Apple Car play/ Android Auto always makes my day. Even though it has a touchscreen, using the scroller in the Mazda is far better and efficient.
